Our Motivation: SOPHiA GENETICS
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have completed a comprehensive analysis of cancer statistics for different age groups in the United States and found that from 2010 through 2019, the incidence of 14 cancer types increased among people under age 50Exit Disclaimer. Of these cancer types, nine—including several common cancers, such as breast cancer and colorectal cancer—also increased in some groups of people aged 50 and older. However, the incidence of 19 other cancer types—including lung cancer and prostate cancer—decreased among people under age 50, so the total rate of all cancers diagnosed in both younger and older age groups did not increase, nor did the rate of cancer death.

How Patient-Reported Bother by Side Effects Predicts Cancer Treatment Discontinuation
We dream of a world where everyone has access to information and resources needed to find their best path forward.
Life never feels more valuable and finite than after diagnosis. In an instant, plans change, and questions, needs, and challenges arise. Without the right answers and support, that diagnosis is daunting, frustrating, and overwhelming.
We believe that those diagnosed with cancer should spend their time and energy how they choose, secure in the knowledge that they have objective, accurate information, and necessary resources to make the right decisions.

About Cancer Finances.org

What is Medicaid?
Many cancers can be prevented by reducing the risk factors, or through vaccination and screening. Others can be detected and diagnosed early in their development, treated and cured. Even with more advanced cancers, pain can be eased, the progression of the cancer slowed, and patients and their families helped to cope.
Cancer control aims to reduce the incidence, morbidity and mortality of cancer and to improve the quality of life of cancer patients in a defined population, through the systematic implementation of evidence-based interventions for prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care.
